What Fenofibrate is used for:
- Fenofibarte is used along with a diet to reduce levels of “bad” cholesterol and triglycerides in your blood.
- It can also help raise the levels of “good” cholesterol in your body.
- Do not take Fenofibrate
- If you’re allergic to the active substances or any other component of this medicine.
- If you have severe kidney problems.
- If you have liver or gallbladder problems.
- If you are breast-feeding.
Warnings and precautions:
- Talk to your doctor about all your medical conditions before taking this medicine including:
- If you have kidney, liver or gallbladder problems.
- If you have a history of muscle problems.
- If you have diabetes type II.
- If you have hypothyroidism.
- This medicine may cause muscle damage especially if you’re taking a medication that belongs to the “statins” family, if you’re older than 65 years, have diabetes, kidney problems or hypothyroidism.
- This medicine may lead to liver and kidney problems.
- Your doctor might order regular blood tests to monitor their function.

How to take Fenofibrate :
- This medicine is intended for adults over the age of 18 years.
- Your doctor should start you on a low-fat diet before taking this medicine.
- Swallow whole.
- Do not chew, break, or crush.
- Some brands of this drug should be taken with food.
- Some brands may be taken with or without food.
- Ask your pharmacist if you need to take your brand with food.
- The usual recommended dose is one capsule or tablet once daily.
How to store Fenofibrate :
- Store at room temperature 68 to 77°F (20 to 25°C).
- Keep this medicine out of reach of children.
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the package.
- The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
