Vitamin B9, also called Folate or Folic acid, is effective in the treatment of folate deficient megaloblastic anemia, as may be seen in anaemia's of nutritional origin or increased utilization, as in pregnancy or lactation.Once daily with a meal.Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to Folic Acid.
Precautions: Folic Acid alone is an improper therapy in the treatment of pernicious Anaemia and other megaloblastic Anaemias where Vitamin B12 is deficient.
Caution should be exercised when administering Folic Acid to patients who may have folate dependent tumours.
Plasma concentration of antiepileptic drugs like phenobarbital, phenytoin and primidone are possibly reduced in presence of Folic Acid.
Keep the package tightly closed in a cool dry place below 25°C protected from light.
Do not use the drug after the expiry date printed on the package.Each tablet contains Folic Acid 1mg.
