Aranesp is indicated for the treatment of anemia associated with chronic renal failure, including patients on dialysis and patients not on dialysis, and for the treatment of anemia in patients with non-myeloid malignancies where anemia is due to the effect of concomitantly administered chemotherapy.
How to use:
Recommended starting dose for patients with CKD on dialysis
0.45mcg/kg intravenously or subcutaneously weekly, or
0.75mcg/kg intravenously or subcutaneously every 2weeks
Intravenous route is recommended for patients on hemodialysis
Caution & Warnings:
headache
body aches,
stomach pain
cough
skin rash or redness
diarrhea, and injection site reactions
