- AMISTOP suspension contains domperidone which is a dopamine antagonist withanti-emetic effect.
Product Features:
- AMISTOP suspension used in treatment of:Epigastric sense of fullness, early satiety, felling of abdominal distension, upperabdominal pain and heart burn
- used in treatment ofNausea and vomiting specially related to radiotherapy or drug therapy (e.g. L-dopaand bromocriptine that used in Parkinson's disease).
How to use:
- Always take AMISTOP suspension exactly as your physician has told you.
- You should check with your physician or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- Shake the bottle before use
- Dosage
- Your physician will determine what dose is appropriate for you.
- - For chronic dyspepsia:
Adults: 10 ml three to four times daily.(maximum daily dose is 80 ml)
Children: 2.5 ml/10kg body weight, three to four times daily.
- - For treatment of nausea and vomiting:
Adults: 20 ml three to four times daily at bed time.
Children: 5.0 ml/10kg body weight, three to four times daily at bed time.
Caution & Warnings:
- BEFORE YOU TAKE AMISTOP , Domperidone may be associated with an increased risk of heart rhythm disorder and cardiac arrest. This risk may be more likely in those over 60 years or taking doses higher than 30 mg per day.
- Do not takes AMISTOP:
- If you are allergic to domperidone or any component of this drug.
- If you are suffering from prolactinoma (Prolactin-releasing pituitary tumour).
- If you are suffering from gastro-intestinal hemorrhage.
- If you are suffering from mechanical obstruction or perforation.
- If stimulation of the gastric motility will be harmful to you.
- Take special care with AMISTOP - Check with your physician or pharmacist before using this medicine:
- - If you suffers from hepatic and renal problems.
- - If you use inhibitors of CYP3A4.
- - If you are pregnant and lactating women.
- Taking other medicines, herbal or dietary supplements
- - Inhibitors of CYP3A4 like oral ketoconazole and erythromycin may be increase plasma level of domperidone.
- - Anti-cholinergic drugs may reduce effect of domperidone.
- - Antacids may decrease oral bioavailability of domperidone
Please tell your physician or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without prescription.
- Taking AMISTOP with food and drink
- It is recommended to take AMISTOP suspension before meals.
- If taken after meals, absorption of the drug may be delayed.
- Pregnancy
- Ask your physician or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.
- There are limited data about the use of domperidone in pregnancy.
- Therefore, AMISTOP suspension should only be used during pregnancy when justified by the anticipated therapeutic benefit
- Breastfeeding
- Domperidone excreted in breast milk in small quantity. There are limited data about the effect of domperidone on newborn. Therefore, AMISTOP suspension is not
- recommended to use during lactation.
- Ask your physician or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.
- Driving and using machines
- AMISTOP suspension has no effect on driving or using machines.
- Important information about some of the ingredients of AMISTOP:
- AMISTOP suspension contains E216 and E218 that may cause allergic reactions.
- AMISTOP suspension contains E420. It’s not recommended to use in patients with hereditary sugar intolerance.
