AKLIEF (Trifarotene 50 mcg/g) topical cream is indicated for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris of the face and/or trunk in patients 12 years of age and older.
The main ingredient is trifarotene, a topical retinoid for use on your trunk (chest, back, and shoulders) as well as on your face.
AKLIEF unclogs pores, clearing existing acne and preventing new acne from forming.
It also reduces inflammation.
How to use:
Cleanse the area to be treated with a mild or soapless cleanser and pat dry.
Apply a thin layer of AKLIEF Cream to the affected areas once a day in the evening.
Use one pump for the face, two pumps for the chest, shoulders and back; an additional pump can be used for the middle and lower back if needed
Treat the whole area, not just individual spots
Caution & Warnings:
Patients using AKLIEF Cream may experience erythema, scaling, dryness, and stinging/burning. Use a moisturizer from the initiation of treatment, and, if appropriate, depending upon the severity of these adverse reactions, reduce the frequency of application of AKLIEF Cream, suspend or discontinue use.
Avoid application of AKLIEF Cream to cuts, abrasions or eczematous or sunburned skin.
Use of “waxing” as a depilatory method should be avoided on skin treated with AKLIEF Cream.
Minimize exposure to sunlight and use sunscreen and protective clothing over treated areas when exposure cannot be avoided.
Avoid contact with your eyes, lips and nostrils
Moisturize & protect your skin with a product as often as needed to minimize skin dryness and irritation.
